Energy in Central Europe, problems and prospects (2024)

Central Europe is not immune to energy management issues. The most recent political move dates back to the period before Russia’s attack on Crimea, when the region was rapidly depleting its resource base. Now it faces the need for long-term energy security and a sustainable reorientation of energy policy. One of the challenges is to increase energy efficiency and develop smart grids to better manage energy supply. It is also worth mentioning the growing importance of renewable energies such as wind and solar energy, which can contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
